I seek to bring my personal experiences gathered from natural and urban environments into my studio to create an interpretation. Using primarily oil and acrylic on canvas, my work reflects my desire to explore the materiality of paint as well as evoke the attitude of the varied landscapes I am influenced by. I convey my interpretations through abstraction using bold colours, overlapping layers, and contrasting edges.

I strive to create a breathable space and to allow the viewer’s eyes to roam and make new discoveries within the painting. Using experimental mark making, I combine hard edges and soft amorphous shapes to create a playful but balanced environment. I am continually discovering new ways to play with paint and combine new methods of painting with tradition ones.
